Network
Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) won the Olivier Award in London and the Tony Award in New York for playing mentally frayed nightly news anchorman Howard Beale in Network, based on the 1976 film. Now BCP becomes the first high school in America and the first theater on the West Coast to produce this brilliant examination of the role of media in shaping our views and our lives. Through live performance and live video, audiences will go into and behind the scenes of a network news broadcast. PARENTAL GUIDANCE SUGGESTED (think "PG-13") for profanity and implications of sex and violence.
Seating and Arrival:
All seating is general admission, which means you cannot reserve specific rows or seats. The theatre opens 30 minutes before the performance. Performances take place in the Black Box Theatre, located inside Sobrato Theatre. The address is 960 W. Hedding St., San Jose, CA 95126, but parking in the Hedding Street lot is very limited due to construction. For parking, we recommend using the free soccer field lot on the north side of Hedding Street and walking under the street to campus. You can also park in the free garage at 795 Stockton Street or in the residential neighborhoods to the west and south of campus. To find the theatre, walk into the Quad in the center of campus. Sobrato Theatre is the tallest building there, facing the pool. The lobby opens at 6:30 pm for 7:00 pm shows and at 1:30 pm for 2:00 pm shows.
Tickets & Theatre Policies:
To enter the theatre, you must show the ticket with the QR code that was emailed to you shortly after your purchase, or you can bring a printed version. All ticket sales are final and there are no refunds or exchanges. Smoking is not allowed on campus. Food, drinks other than water, and pets are not allowed inside the theatre. Wheelchair accessible seating is available for each performance. To reserve a wheelchair accessible space or if you have questions, please email House Manager Marc McGee at mmcgee@bcp.org. We look forward to seeing you at Network.
